VBAW Participant Safety
Disqualifying Safety Factors’ for VBAW adaptive skiing participants:
1. Open wounds (infection risk)
2. Known brittle bones (fracture risk)
3. Tracheotomy dependence (risk of water ingestion)
4. Recent history of seizures within the prior six months (Demonstrate no seizures with physician’s note)
5. 250 lb max weight of participant, providing availability of strong, experienced flanker skiers, at discretion of the trained, certified VBAW event Safety Coordinator- (equipment failure risk and volunteer/participant injury risks)
